Ways to reuse... glass bottles!

How to turn a glass bottle into a vase.

Start with a bottle, peel off the label and rinse it out.
Let it dry completely.

Add some craft paint to the bottles.
I chose pink and teal.

Once you added the paint, move the bottle around until it is completely covered.

Turn the bottle upside down to empty all extra paint.

Wait for the paint to dry completely.

Add your favorite flowers.
Now you have a beautiful vase!

*You can also make a candle holder by
adding sand and a taper candle.*

Ways to reuse... soup cans!

How to turn a soup can into a candle holder.

First, use any size tin can.
Eat contents.

Peel off the label and rinse out the can.

Fill can with water and freeze for at least 8 hours.
Draw on a design.
Use a nail and hammer to punch holes around the design.

Paint the can and allow it to dry completely.
(Optional) Once dried tape off a section in the middle.

Paint the middle a different color.
Allow the paint to fully dry.

Once the paint is fully dry carefully peel off the tape.

Add a candle, and ta-da! A beautiful outdoor candle.
(You can add sand to the bottom to weigh the can down.)

Ways to reuse... cereal boxes!

How to turn a cereal box into a magazine, book, paper, anything-at-all holder.

You need an empty cereal box.
Any size at all.

Start by drawing the outline of your magazine holder with a sharpie.
Then use a utility knife, or craft knife to cut it out.

Chose your favorite pattern paper.
You will need 3 12x12 sheets.

Trace around the paper in the shape you need to cut.
Don't forget to leave extra paper on the outside of the line
to fold over the edge of the box.

Use mod podge (or any other super tough glue)
to attach the papers to the cereal box.
Don't forget to fold over the extra paper into the box and glue it well.
(I found that it was really helpful to put another box of cereal inside
of your cut up box, gives it more stability as you are gluing.)

Once the paper is glued on, let it dry for 5-10 minutes.
Now add the mod podge to the outside of the paper also,
to further protect it.

Ta-Da! Now my unorganized desk can be slightly less unorganized.
(and they're cute too!)

Ways to reuse... oatmeal containers!

Make a wind sock out of an oatmeal container.

Clean out an empty oatmeal container.

Cut out the bottom of the container.

Cover the container with decorative paper.
(Or white paper, and have you favorite little artist finger paint!)

Cover the container with Mod Podge
(either hard or outdoor so it can withstand the elements.)

Choose some ribbons in different colors and widths.
You can purchase them by the yard so that you are not left with a lot of the same type.

Cut each ribbon about 1 1/2 feet long.
Mark the spots at the bottom of the container that you would like your ribbons.
You can use either a utility knife or a drill to make your holes.

Thread the ribbon through each hole, and tie on the inside of the container.

Hang your new wind sock in your favorite spot and enjoy!

Ways to reuse... crayons!

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
You will need a silicone heart shaped muffin tin.

Take old and broken crayons and unwrap them.
Break them into small pieces and set them in the muffin tin.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until completely melted.

Wait until completely cooled, then pop out hearts.

You can also use any cookie cutter to make personalized crayons.
Instead of using a muffin tin, melt crayons in a glass measuring cup.

Put down a piece of aluminum foil, and set the cookie cutters on it.
Carefully pour the crayons into the cookie cutters.

When completely cooled carefully push the crayons out of the cookie cutters.

This is a great way to use up old and broken crayons, and give them new life!!
